Are you planning to be in Las Vegas during the first week of September? Me too! Now that Labor Day is about a month away, it’s high time I posted the date, time and location of the Second Annual Vegas Solo Meetup!
Like last year, this is a very casual, come-as-you-are kind of meetup. In the style of all good Las Vegas meet-and-greets, it’s just a chance for any of us who happen to be in town that day to meet face-to-face, chat a bit and get to know each other. (After all, part of the fun of solo travel is getting to meet new people!)
Here are the details:
Wednesday, September 5, 2012
4pm-5pm(ish)
The Seahorse Lounge at Caesars Palace
The Lounge is pretty easy to find, even in the Labyrinth that is Caesars Palace. Just enter at the main valet entrance (facing the fountains), turn right, and it’s straight ahead. Here’s a property map to help you find it. (Many thanks to VegasCasinoInfo.com for having such a great resource site. They have property maps for lots of Las Vegas resorts. Check them out!)
Remember, you do not need to be solo to come to the meetup. All my readers are welcome.
I have been told many times that I look exactly like my photo, so you shouldn’t have any trouble spotting me:
IF I have to change the time or location of the meetup at the last minute for reasons beyond my control (like they’ve shut the Lounge down to turn it into a Burger King or something), I’ll be sure to tweet the new information on Twitter, so make sure you’re following me there.
I hope some of you can make it. I look forward to seeing you there!

Doesn’t look like I’ll be able to make it this year, but I’d definitely encourage anyone who will be in Vegas to stop by. I had a blast last time – swapping war stories with fellow travelers is always a fun way to spend an hour. Hope this year’s meetup turns out as great as the last one!
Me too, Nate! I’m sorry to hear you won’t be able to make it. You’ll always be a founding member of the Vegas Solo meetups!
Sounds good and bar looks lovely.Thats my first full day ,I fly in the Tuesday night so hopefully I will make it this year !!
Yay! I hope to see you there and finally meet you in person, Sharon!
Hi Gray, I am also unable to make it, I will only be in Vegas for 26 hours on the 3rd-4th Sept.
Just a quick trip this year, I have 11 days in CT, RI and MA prior to that. Am using the 24 hours to get the new chips from the 6 casino’s that have been opened – rebranded since I was there last in 2009.
Hope you have a great time and I hope The Seahorse Lounge is large enough for all your followers !!
Best wishes
Keith B.
Aww, Keith, I’m sorry to hear that. If you have time to meet up on the 3rd or 4th for a quick drink, let me know. I’m around. Has it really been since 2009 that you were last there? That’s so hard to believe. That was the year we discovered the Lobster Zone!
Hi Gray,
Sorry it took so long to reply, yeah, Lobster Zone, I remember that.
I would love to catch up if it works for you . Will be in on the 3rd from about 4pm. Let me know, either here or on my email. Am in Springfield MA till early Monday morning.
[...] last reminder: Don’t forget, we’ve got the second annual Vegas Solo Meetup coming up on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. If you’re going to be in Las Vegas, I’d love [...]
Wish I could be there.
I wish you could too, JoAnn!
Hello,
I’m Scott from Ohio and plan to attend.
This will be my 5th solo trip to Las Vegas.
Great location choice as Caeser’s and it’s Qua Spa are favorites of mine.
Plus one can’t see the aminatronic ‘Fall of Atlantis’ too many times!
Scott
Awesome, Scott! I look forward to meeting you and trading “solo Vegas” stories. (I love the Fall of Atlantis, too. Does that make us nerds?)
I’d say that mutual interest makes us “Connoisseurs of Kitsch”!
It’s a must-do like hitting several impersonator shows…
I plan to see ‘Barbra and Frank: ;The Concert that Never Was’ for a third time if it’s playing.
Scott
“Connoisseurs of Kitsch”, I like it.
Gray, this was so much fun! Can’t wait to see the group pic that I hunkered down for. I’m still amazed that there were eight of us there!!
It WAS fun, Brian! Thanks again for coming!
