I don’t normally post newsy items here, but this one caught my attention big-time, because the potential savings that could be realized is quite good. Harrahs is now offering what they call the “All Stage Pass” for $99 + tax and fees (if you’re a member of Total Rewards, so do join if you aren’t; non-members pay $119 + tax and fees). You can purchase the Pass at the Planet Hollywood box office (and only that box office). What do you get for $99? As many of Harrahs’ shows as you can see in a 48 hour period of time. (This deal was made for travel commandos like me!)
Theoretically, if you played your cards right, you might be able to see as many as 6 shows in 2 days–if you could get back and forth between casino-resorts in a speedy fashion and you didn’t mind sucking up a huge chunk of your precious Vegas time doing so. But I think it’s more realistic to say you could get 4 shows out of the Pass without it being an inconvenience. It would be easy to get more than your money’s worth out of this deal. It does require some strategy and a little work, though. First you have to get the Pass at Planet Hollywood. Then you have to go to the individual box offices of the various shows you want to see to get tickets for them. (And if the show is sold out that night, too bad, so sad.) You’ve also got to make sure you have plenty of time to get from one show to the other if they’re in different hotels.
To me, this is a much healthier deal than Harrahs “Buffet of Buffets,” which would have you stuffing yourself silly at the buffet for 24 hours, but your mileage may vary. Could be an interesting experiment, anyway. Or you could just wait and see if the Tix4Tonight booth is offering half-price tickets for the shows you want to see and go that route. In any case, you now have another option for show savings in Las Vegas.
